Our waterways have been altered substaintially since European settlement. The removal of structural woody habitat (snags), construction of dams and weirs and the increasing impacts of climate change a just a few of the challenges they face.

At ARI, our researchers are helping to guide and monitor rehabilitation efforts that restore instream habitat, increase connectivity along rivers, and improve water quality through better management.
